There are twice as many pirates in the European Parliament! ;)

Having earned more than 7 percent of the vote, the Pirate Party of Sweden got its first seat in the European Parliament back in June, at the same time the hope was born of getting a second one if the Lisbon Agreement was approved. And it happened! The agreement was approved on November 3 by the President of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Klaus, who was the last to sign it.

After the recognition of the Lisbon Agreement by all EU countries, the Pirate Party of Sweden received the second seat in the European Parliament, it will be occupied by 22-year-old Amelia Andersdotter, who will become the youngest member of the European Parliament. In order to pay more attention to her political career, she decided to abandon her studies at the university, specializing in Economics and Spanish. Despite the fact that she will focus on the struggle for a more friendly copyright, she will also spend time discussing education reforms, as well as a deeper understanding of the European economy. Amelia will officially take her seat in Brussels on December 1, where her colleague Christian Engstrom is already awaiting her. Enough work on both, as the "copywriters" do not sleep.


Ironically, but fact: "The Pirate Party opposed this agreement."
