Starting with the next version (9.0), IntelliJ IDEA will be released in two versions: Community Edition and Ultimate Edition. The free version, licensed under Apache 2.0, will have full support for Java SE, Groovy, and Scala, and support for Java EE and related technologies will remain the prerogative of the commercial version.
