Demo version of Google Docs OCR
As reported yesterday, the Google Docs API began testing a new text recognition feature, as in Evernote. That is, it will become possible to simply take a photo or scan a document, upload a picture to Google Docs - and the document will appear there in the form of normal text
To activate OCR when loading documents through the API, you need to add a parameter
A working demo version has appeared online (source will be later). Supports JPG, GIF and PNG files up to 10 MB in size. Recognizing one page of text takes up to 40 seconds (today, obviously, it will be longer). The service works with glitches, errors are possible.
