Thunderbird 3.0 beta 4 released

Somehow quietly (although to someone like) yesterday the fourth beta of the Thunderbird 3.0 mailer was released.

    The main innovations are:

    • Improved search with advanced filtering tools.

Advanced filtering tools are now added to the search results window. Now you can filter the search results by sender, tag, attachments, contacts, folder and mailing list. You can also filter your mail using the timeline.

    • Redone mail toolbar and global search box

The mail toolbar has been redone to include a global search bar. Buttons such as Reply, Forward, Delete, Spam are now part of the display window of each message. When typing a query into the Global Search field, Thunderbird automatically completes the query from your address book. You can search everywhere or make a request based on various parameters of the letter, such as subject or sender.

    • New account setup wizard The new account setup

wizard queries the database of mail server settings of popular email providers, so you only need to enter your name, email address and password to set up a new email account.

    • Smart folders

The smart folder mode has been added to the folder bar, in which the folder bar displays special mailboxes (for example, Inbox) from different accounts. Smart Folder mode is now enabled by default.
