(to the President)
Dear Dmitry Anatolyevich.
I want to inform you that similar news internet.cnews.ru/news/top/index.shtml?2009/09/10/361401 about creating their own browser for officials undermine the respect for power of those who have not lost the rest of this respect and remind the rest that nothing is changing in our country.
People who understand well what a browser is, they see a few simple words behind the text of this news: theft, incompetence, irresponsibility and uselessness.
a) A lot of taxpayer money will be sawn and pumped out. Why? Do because there is no other way.
b) The phrase “what ordinary Internet Explorer cannot provide” shows the extreme degree of incompetence in the matter. An equal sign between “browser” and “Internet Explorer” is put only by people who have a level of computer literacy of primary school age.
In addition to the Trident (MSHTML), which is the basis of MSIE, the world also has:
WebKit is a free and open source engine that Google focused on when developing its Google Chrome browser (Safari is also based on it).
Official site - webkit.org/
Wikipedia article - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebKit
Geco - a free and open source engine that builds Mozilla Firefox browser.
Wikipedia article - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gecko
Opera Presto engine: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presto_%28Opera%29
And, in fact, Opera: opera.com/
It makes no sense to create a Russian browser with increased security, because There are already a huge number of browsers, including open source ones, which fully satisfy the modern requirements of security, speed and user-friendliness of the interface. Creating your own browser is akin to inventing a bicycle. In the best case, the story will be repeated with MSWS, where the changes relative to the basic Red Hat consisted only of splash screens, icons, and some (by no means all, even help not translated) texts.
There is a complete feeling that the goal in creating the Russian browser is to create another corruption scheme for “cutting” taxpayer money.
If they create a Russian browser, then, most likely, it will be used only “from under the stick” at the time when it will be necessary to report that “the implementation was successful”.
This is just another shame and I, like many other people, are very “offended by the power”.
I am sure that you, as a person who actively uses modern achievements in the field of IT in life and in work, will be able to change the situation with such projects for the better.
We look forward to other news beyond which the words in the three paragraphs above will not be read.
Sincerely.
