Best plugins for Textpattern
Many of the visitors (readers) of my blog know that I prefer Textpattern to other similar engines. It so happened and now I just do not want to pick the insides of another CMS. Textpattern is fine with me.
For some reason, quite a bit has been written on Habré about this wonderful CMS. It, of course, is not as popular as the same WordPress, but still deserves at least a little attention from the respected habrasociety :) A
lot has been written about the features of this engine. I am not yet ready to write a large and convincing article about Textpattern. Moreover, I'm just a confident user :)
Well, for those who suddenly decided to use Textpattern for their own purposes (or are already actively using it) - I’m giving you a list of the best, in my humble opinion, plugins for this engine.
I did not call this post “10 plugins for Textpattern without which it is impossible to live” or “11 best plugins for Textpattern”. For two reasons.
Yes, I know that many plug-ins have alternative, and maybe even superior in functionality. However, here I will collect only those that I personally use. Or going to use it.
All plugins are in alphabetical order.
Recently, it has become fashionable to attach a picture to your email address - an avatar. In order for this avatar picture to appear in your comment.
The plugin actually shows a picture corresponding to the commentator’s e-mail. So register on gravatar.com and many of your comments on different sites will be provided with your picture.
So it’s really prettier ...
PS The plugin has a small bug: if you write your e-mail in the comments using capital letters, your picture will not be shown. In principle, it is not difficult to fix this bug, but it is better to write e-mail in lower case letters. For reliability.
UPD: it turns out the plug-in developer fixed this bug in the summer, so update :)
The simplest installer of themes (templates). It simply exports or imports all pages, forms, styles.
I use it only to raise the same design on a localhost or transfer it from a local server to the Internet.
Fast and convenient.
By default, in Textpattern, pagination is simple: previous entries, next entries. This is ineffective in terms of SEO (few pages) and usability (you have to click a lot to view the penultimate article with a large number of articles). This plugin allows you to implement page navigation like in Google - with numbers :)
The plugin has many settings and is on all my sites :)
Essential for every SEO plugin. Allows you to set a unique title for the site pages (title tag). A lot of settings and clear help will make your addiction to this plugin inevitable :)
Another SEO plugin that creates a sitemap (meaning sitemap - an XML list of all site pages). The site map is available at a specific address. And, most importantly, it can be fed to search engines for speedy and proper indexing.
A small but extremely convenient plugin. Allows you to open all the additional fields of the article when writing. And now you do not need to make extra clicks to manually change the date, write keywords or set any other parameters for the article.
I put on all my sites.
Required if you need to group articles by date or other grounds. Very convenient and high-quality plugin.
Very good for creating a kind of site map: a page on which links to all articles of the site are grouped.
This is generally a plugin that extends Textpattern to infinity. It simply allows you to directly write queries to database tables and display them anywhere on the page. I already wrote about it separately: "Extending the possibilities of textpattern with smd_query . "
If you need to do something on Textpattern, you know the basics of SQL and you are too lazy to look for special plugins - this is your plugin.
An indispensable tag cloud plugin. Easy to install and configure. Uses keywords to store tags. Almost all the txp tags I know for the tag cloud use this particular plugin.
Recently opened this useful plugin. It allows you to conveniently insert links to other articles of your site in the article.
Easy to install, easy to use and indispensable in search engine optimization.
Why link to your previous articles? I’ll write about this in more detail somehow ... :) Too big a topic for conversation.
Thanks for attention. Anyone who uses Textpattern in their work, I ask you to add this list with your best plugins :)
Friends, if you are interested in this engine, then I give a few links (well, I can write an article about the experience of using it in my practice):

- This list will be updated. I am 100% sure of this. On my blog for sure.
- Each site needs its own plugins. And it is hardly possible to find a site that would blindly push all the plugins from this page to itself. Given the first point, of course.
