My translation of article 20 Questions To Ask Clients Prior To Designing A Logo by designer Brown Hoff

Before starting any project, it is important to obtain reliable preliminary information from your client. This will help you to pave the way to the completion of the project, help to shape the taste of the client in the future and build a long relationship.

Most of the questions below will also help in compiling a clear customer questionnaire.
Things like deadline, usage rights, etc. must be included in the calculation.

Since my main activity is related to logo design, I am guided by the following 20 questions that a client needs to ask before starting logo design. Also, some of these questions can be used in survey forms for other types of design, you can freely use them in your questionnaires about printed materials and web design.

4 -Who are your main competitors? Links provided by the client will help to better understand the market and competition.

5 - How do you differ from your competitors?

6 - What is the average age of your target audience? It will help to create a capacious image of the logo.

also I like to leave for my clients fields and empty space at the end of the questionnaire, where they can write additional information and comments.

Remember, being a graphic designer means being the one who solves the problems. You cannot solve problems without understanding the essence of the problem - ask questions, this is the best start!

What questions do you ask your clients before starting a project? Maybe replenish the list? Write in the comments. Thanks.
