From the newsletter of the Openmoko project, it became known that Openmoko Inc ceases to deal with Open Source-smartphones, leaving all the development to the community.
As it turned out, on May 25, many Openmoko Inc employees were fired, because now the company intends to start creating a device of a fundamentally different type (details are promised in the coming months).
The fate of the project is entirely in the hands of the community, which has the right to develop it at its discretion. And many former Openmoko Inc employees continue to work on updated Neo FreeRunner hardware and other Openmoko-related projects.
PS Sales of the current version of the Neo FreeRunner smartphone do not stop - there are still many released devices.
