Net profit of Opera Software in the I quarter of 2009 amounted to 2.8 million Euro
This morning, Opera Software released its financial results for the first quarter of 2009. Despite the crisis and the widespread drop in revenues of IT industry enterprises, the company remains profitable and continues to reinvest funds in new projects. This year, several products will start at once, including Opera Mobile 9.7 for Windows Mobile, the desktop browser Opera 10, as well as several very interesting and fundamentally new technologies on the browser market, which we will talk about shortly.
The main financial results for the 1st quarter of 2009:
* Revenue: NOK 163 million (EUR 18.52 million) is 59% more than in Q1-2008
* Profit (EBIT): NOK 24.9 million (EUR 2.83 million) ) is 61% more than in Q1-2008
* Opera Desktop line revenue: NOK 47 million (EUR 5.34 million), + 103% compared to Q1-2008
* Revenue for Internet Devices: 116 million NOK (13.18 million EUR), + 46% compared to Q1-2008
Opera Desktop is a business that earns on search queries and also on affiliate programs with large portals.
Opera Internet Devices - a direction related to mobile phones, other devices for accessing the Web, with the licensing of browsers, with consulting and server hosting.
