A4tech X-7 Series mouse scroll wheel bug
The A4Tech X-7 series mice are very good gaming directional manipulators in the budget category. A huge advantage of this series are upscale laser sensors, which are installed in the mouse cost an order of magnitude higher. X-7s look good, are convenient to operate, and allow you to switch DPIs on the fly up to 2500. Of course, there are also disadvantages, for example, coverage is wiped, but still, in their price category, these devices have practically no analogues, and with similar shortcomings you can put up.
The only really annoying bug that prevents annoyingly and constantly is a bug with a scroll. Scrolling starts to fail, scrolling up instead of down or just jerking back and forth. In a hot battle, this factor is vital for many, because the scroll wheel is usually assigned to change weapons. However, with such a problem, and surfing sites becomes unbearable.
It is good that this problem is solved with a little blood.
Six months after buying my XL-750F, I also encountered scrolling glitches. Well, you see, it’s not the case when a beloved Urban Terror suddenly has a knife in his hands instead of an assault rifle, or even worse - a grenade. Clap, and already respawn.
The repair procedure is simple and effective. We disassemble the mouse.
On the one hand, the shaft on which the scroll wheel is “mounted” lies on the button of the central click, on the other hand it is inserted into the hexagonal groove responsible for the scroll function itself.
Carefully remove the scroll shaft from the slot.
Here is our goal - a wheel with a groove enclosed in a metal frame.
We confidently squeeze the frame
with small pliers ... ... on both sides. Calculate the applied force experimentally, given that a very tightly compressed frame will make the scroll wheel stiffer. And of course, especially not atrocious, remarkable force and to break something is quite real.
Check the result immediately without closing the mouse body. For example, you can “scroll” this blog entry.
Well, if my advice came to you on time, and you did not have time to throw out your mouse. Do not throw, the X-7 is really a good series.
Hope it was helpful. I’ll go pick up a couple of hundred phages with an already revived wheel ...
Dear A4Tech company, well, it’s not enough for you to tear your hands off for such a miserable scroll mechanism, honestly. And get one more for the mat - why did I buy 800MP? To take away a nail file from your wife and finish for you a work surface that did not fit into a plastic base?
