Freedom of information

    imageAfter reading a couple of topics about TBP and watching a video, I wanted to know which of you, who believe that information should be freely distributed, distributes 100% of the information created by itself openly and free of charge? Have you personally written theses, term projects? I hope they wrote and then distributed them to the whole stream? Yes? And the whole stream put its surnames and initials at your work? Or did you make an auteur movie and share it with your friends and forgive them to share with your friends? Or maybe you wrote poems for your beloved and then posted them on the net so that others could read them to their beloved? Or do you play in a small group and post your recorded albums to the network and give free concerts allowing audio and video recording?

    If you answered “yes” to at least one question, maybe you did a good thing, and maybe not, but I would like to talk with those who answered “no” - you do not distinguish between the concept of labor and information, which is difficult to separate in the information age .

    For TBP in this text, I mean people advocating for the free and unhindered distribution of information. I also support this idea, but I don’t see any real factors hindering the dissemination of information, and therefore I don’t see the point in your actions / protests.

    I am very interested in listening to what TPB supporters say in their interviews and how they do it. Interview guyvery successfully omitted some words and therefore half truth is convincing in principle for a person who is not very in the subject, it can be seen that the speech is delivered, and this will mean that the man is passionate about what he is talking about or rehearsed. Even if, from my point of view, a person is wrong, it’s about some kind of abstract information and about abstract infringement of rights, but the fact that he is trying to contact the authorities is five. So about this promotion- look at how much “information” there is in it in the form of cliparts / images and how “presentable” this amateur performance looks. I’m also interested in how legal the tracks they tried to beat dnbstep and tectonics for (there that doesn’t even pull to the level of amateur performances) are legal? And although they could either agitate talented dancers / artists / DJs, in general, someone from the tech nowadays creates this information so beloved by everyone, or create it themselves, at an acceptable level, rather than “stick-stick-agurecheg- that's it-and-got-a-man ”, since there’s someone to agitate, for example, I recently found out that there is a personality“ You are interested ”in LJ, very talented and no one forbids this person to disseminate information, is it even strange? Or not?

    Show what you have to spread

    And I'm even more than sure that none of the protesters always want to create information for no reason. Why is it that you don’t hear those who create and distribute and were forbidden to them, for example, auteur cinema and music on torrents.ru, and if you replicate this information, no one will be against it, and the creators of this information will express gratitude. But I think that they are motivated not by the principles of disseminating information for the dorm, but not by the opportunity to conduct an advertising campaign. Yes there are exceptions. This is becoming more popular among musicians, but they are fed not by the circulation of records, but by the concerts held, which should not be forgotten.

    Information cannot be disseminated without creating it.

    For example, you are not indignant when in museums and similar institutions there is a certain price list for the replication of information - for photo and video shooting? I do not resent. I paid 10 rubles and at least get laid back.

    Also, no one bothers to acquire exclusive rights to an album / program / film and replicate it as you like? Yes, everyone is used to the fact that nothing ever happens to anyone, but you should feel that this is not good. Why does everyone immediately forget that this information belongs to someone? Why do not you respect the person who created the information?

    When you were not given the opportunity to disseminate information?

    Most of us listen to the radio - the radio is also a way of disseminating information, so how many of you have thought that each track broadcast on the radio is precisely the concept you are fighting for? And who thought that the copyright holder was notified that a particular track would be played on the air? And also about what is paid for it? And after all, no one interferes with the work of radio stations? And they disseminate information directly in space, that is, they have already achieved what you are achieving.

    I would also like to note the fact that distribution is not always a blessing. For example, someone writes a song, and shows it to friends, and it becomes a work of art, and then they begin to distribute it. Mobile calls / advertising inserts / on each radio station twist it and as a result the track turns into UG.

    If this problem is really close to you - try to look at it from the opposite side. Create “information”, really good and high-quality information, for example, film a work of your favorite author. Find a team of enthusiasts and after fifteen months share your information, the original of your film adaptation will remain with you forever and it will be circulated by millions of people, along with it some of them will tell you, it is very arguable that bullet shit is much better than the director, but alas, you never you don’t know, since you will be busy with a bunch of other problems - to pay for the work of the team, materials, etc. You expected to collect a large box office, but in the end your film didn’t even pay for itself, because people didn’t go to the movies, but watched it at home, not downloading DVDs, but downloading it. And by doing so you harm yourself,

    We deprive ourselves of the opportunity to enjoy quality things, and confuse the concepts of labor and information. Information should be free, labor should be paid.

    For example, “Inhabited Island”

    * Budget: $ 36,500,000
    * Box office in Russia: $ 19,275,214 (as of January 25, 2009)

    Lost profits due to the free distribution of information using torrents.ru alone are more than 10 million rubles (roughly rounding down) ), this is about one and a half percent of the not paid off part of the budget. Actually, due to the principles of freedom of information, the movie didn’t pay off (other bittorrent networks, ed2k, counterfeit) and for this reason the team may not be able to take off the screen version of the Genome or the Competitors, and the level would allow it.

    If you are not ready to pay for labor - do not use its fruits

    And I would still like to see a precedent when the information was not allowed to be distributed - the seizure of the television center / radio studios during the coups in the country is not accepted, since this is not from this opera, censorship again is not something you are protesting against.
