Opening venture capital fund

googleventuresMarch 31 The well-known company, not to do evil, has announced the creation of a fund of venture capital investment the Google Ventures , which is "seeking great companies who are ready to grow" in a wide range of areas: consumer Internet, the development (both software and iron), biotechnology, healthcare and many others.

In addition to Google itself, the fund is also managed by Bill Maris (Bill Maris), known for founding the hosting company Burlee.com and Rich Miner (Rich Miner), co-founder of the Android mobile platform. No information was received from officials about the amount of money available in the fund, but the site says about the possibility of "investing on various scales, from the grain stage (seed and pre-seed) to tens of millions of dollars."

There is no doubt that if the fund sees a good opportunity for investment, Google and two managers will not squeeze because of a couple of extra million. But throwing money away is not at all in the style of this company. The purpose of the fund is not only to help create "great companies", but also "long-term profitability."
