There are several types of certification for IT project managers that are not so easy to understand. To make it easier for you, I have combined the information on them into one table. Included in the types of certification that is quite common in Russia, and can help you in your career. Speaking generally, there are 3 areas of certification:

By ALM Certifications:
- Certification RUP includes a fairly large number of species. I personally could not deal with them to the end)). A complete list of RUP certification is http://www-03.ibm.com/certify/certs/rl_index.shtml . As I understand it, beginners at RUP need IBM Certified Solution Designer certification - Rational Software Architect
- MSF certification now includes one view - 70-301 - "Managing, Organizing, and Delivering IT Projects by Using Microsoft Solutions Framework 3.0 . " This certification has nothing to do with the MCTS Microsoft Project. And this certification will leave in March 2009, so either you need to get ready for it very quickly, or not pass it at all. According to Microsoft representatives, the new certification for MSF 4.0 will probably be divided into 2 parts - for Agile approaches and CMMI.
- According to Scrum, there is currently no certification in fact, it is planned to introduce it in April 2009. You get Scrum degrees http://www.scrumalliance.org/training just by going through their trainings. Certified trainings are not held in Russia now - so you have to fly to Europe.
