Four-finger gestures on older MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs
In the new versions of unibody MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, as in previous models, the trackpad recognizes multitouch gestures, but unlike older ones, 4-finger gestures are available. New gestures allow you to control Exposé and switch between applications.
Attention! This only works for models that had 3-finger gestures but no 4-finger gestures.
Apple is not going to release an update so that 4-finger gestures become available in older models. But support for such gestures can be activated independently. To do this, download AppleUSBMultitouchMBP.kext for MBP or AppleUSBMultitouchMBA.kext for MBA. Unpack the contents and put in / system / library / extensions. For correct operation, you must restore the file permissions, for this you need to run Disk Utility (/ applications / utilities) and make “repair permissions” for the system partition. We are overloaded and now we have gestures available as in unibody models.
