Guide Bar for Adobe Fireworks
I have been using Adobe Fireworks for a long time and am as pleased as the designer can rejoice at the graphics editor. It is much more convenient to edit the vector than in Photoshop, it supports Photoshop Live Effects, and there are small goodies like arbitrary font smoothing. Of course, the main product of Adobe was and still remains the master of the raster, but for directly preparing layouts, somehow: drawing buttons, menus, aligning blocks, bringing fonts to mind - Fw is almost perfect. But he has one problem - no work with guides (Guides). They are as if conceived, but only if created in Ps. I had to export the layout to Ps, insert the guides, open it in Fw and there already work with a calm mind until the moment when new guides are needed. In general, not life, but torment. Nothing boded luck
The extension is a Guides panel, implemented on the JavaScript API and easily combined with the other panels in the right column of Fw. It is delivered in the form of a .mxp file, installed through the Adobe Extension Manager, launched through the Window -> Guide menu and looks like this:
The panel provides complete editing tools for guides: insert, copy, delete, group. In general, now I will never leave my beloved Fireworks. :)
Yes, and what post without a link? :) Here is a tutorial from the developer on working with the extension, and you can download the latter from this link .
