Window Colorizer 0.8 beta
I spread the beta program for Windows, which allows you to change the color of the active window, depending on the current layout.
The colors of the frames are set in the settings.
It works under Windows XP and Vista (with the installed theme “standard”, not under Aero), with “classic” themes a la Windows 2000 is not friendly.
After starting, the icon appears in the tray
When you click on it, a menu appears from which you can end the work or call up the settings window:
Here you can set the color and intensity of coloring, check them (the "Test" button), set the operating mode of the ScrollLock keyboard indicator. Changes are saved when you click OK.
Disadvantages of the current version:
- In some cases, does not color the current window. In this case, you can activate it again - for example, by switching using the Alt-Tab to the neighboring one and vice versa.
- Does not color the Internet Explorer window in Vista. I don’t know why, this is a mystery.
- On some windows, when switching layouts, the effect of "bounce" may be observed - the window changes color several times. It is caused by the fact that the OS for some reason sends a window several identical messages about a layout change instead of one.
- The frame is not drawn in the “pop-up” windows; these include message windows and text search windows in editors / browsers.
Just in case, I warn you - despite the fact that the program works stably on my machine, it's still beta:Before its first launch, it is recommended to save all active documents ! If an error occurs in the program, the entire OS will hang - this is how it works.
Tips:
- If antiviruses / firewalls are installed on the machine, they will swear at "injecting dll into someone else's address space" - this is normal.
- In Windows XP, it makes sense to set the theme "silver" - it is easier to choose different colors for the frames on it.
That's all. You can download from here: http://www.print-me.ru/testzone/wincol.zip
