YouTubeTV is now on Wii and PS3

It seems that YouTube is terribly not happy with the current situation - the service is stuck in its current position. In order to slightly correct the situation and take several steps towards full-fledged online television, soon all owners of the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3 consoles will have the opportunity to send browsers to www.youtube.com/tv (they redirect PC owners to an ordinary site) in order to to watch videos on your big TV.

Now the service is in beta testing, but will soon provide full streaming video to any TV connected to the game console. Navigation of the section will be simplified for users with joysticks in their hands, and optionally you can enable the “auto-play” function, which will itself play the next video associated with the previous ones - this is how TV shows and movies are usually laid out on YouTube. Already, the TV section of the site is available in 22 geographical areas in 12 languages.

Previously, it was reported that YouTube worked closely with major manufacturers of TVs and home cinema in order to introduce at the factory the ability to view videos on the most popular site in each “large room” of the planet, but the plan for capturing world domination did not succeed - so far only individual companies decided to install a browser on the TV. Now, with such a radical offer for all Wii and PS3 owners, YouTube has the right to count on the rapid growth in the popularity of its TV section.
