After the topic about utorrent automation, there were several ideas for improvement that I would like to see in my favorite torrent client. It is not surprising that many have already been discussed, although they may have just occurred to us. Therefore, letters and pleas to the developers were postponed until reading the forum. And, as it turned out, not in vain ...
What I wanted to get, with the continuation:
1. the ability to have different profiles in the scheduler (this is necessary in order to differentiate the speed by hour / time of day; for example, do not stop all downloads to work, adjust the speed to evening time, without clogging the channel) - it turned out that it was already discussed, one of the planned improvements in version 1.9;
2. sorting tags(reverse sorting or shutdown) - there is already a direct sorting in alphabetical order (AZ), another is not planned to enter. It is proposed to carry out all the desired sortings not using labels, but in the next window;
3. multi-tags (the ability to set multiple tags for one torrent; or tree-like tags of the form: category-> subcategory) - most likely will not be entered. However, a clean-up solution still exists. Using special characters. For example, you can use this | or>. However, it is worth considering that auto-creation of folders with names similar to labels will not work. Since the mkdir command does not distinguish between all characters. A great way was suggested by sdvn- use labels of the type category \ subcategory (at the output we get the drive: \\ completed \ category \ subcategory).
4. Sorting of RSS torrent feeds - already requested, the same applies to favorites in filters (Drag and Drop now works; inconvenient with a large number, but it works after all);
5. label editor (for changing existing ones and creating new ones with changing directory names) - rejected in one of the topics. It was said approximately the following: “Patsaki, what are you doing? Well, it's easy to do this, select all the files and assign a new label. "
6. looked / did not look in front of the file, followed by automatic deletion- there are actually two improvements here: interface and auto-deletion. In the first case, the introduction of a new column, if you think about it, is not entirely rational. If there are few torrents, then mention it yourself. And if there is a lot, then more and more often you will have to suffer with the click of a button. Sometimes there is simply no need to fence a garden. But with automatic removal, everything is much more interesting. An option has been proposed and partially approved. That is, there will be an extension to the scheduler, but there will be no auto-deletion of torrents and files. How it will look and whether it will appear in version 1.9 is not yet clear;
7. icq-bot for remote control- everything is completely sluggish here. A certain Russian-speaking comrade appeared and offered his best practices on Delphi. Unfortunately, without attaching the source code or any clear description. They distrusted him and deleted the development link. Contact with him failed. In theory, implementations are possible since the API is open.
8. automatic processing of files upon completion of the download (options: unpacking archives, video processing) - you can’t do it only with the help of the torrent client. You can manually enable certain actions for a torrent or group (properties -> advanced -> run this program when download finishes). You can automate the process with third-party solutions (bat-file, nncron, etc.);
