Ruby and Rails tutoring, private lessons

Update: Since this post was written a long time ago and the information in it is a bit out of date, if you want to learn Ruby On Rails, please go to this page: snitko.ru/learn_rails.html , I tried to explain everything in detail there.

    ***

I’m going to offer private lessons right here to people who want to get acquainted with the Ruby language and learn how to display web applications on Rails. We will discuss and draw up an individual lesson plan, set goals, work on your own ideas and projects, and, if desired, I will gradually connect you to the development of my new interesting project.

    Conditions are discussed individually.

Under the cut will be a little about me and a little more about my proposal.

    About me

I have been working with Rails for a year, I have done my own teachmate.org project , now, together with several other people I am working on a new project. Naturally, in addition to the cut itself, I can html, css, javascript & jQuery, configure the mongrel cluster, nginx and the ubuntu server as a whole. I use git, vim and bash in my work . I profess TDD , I use rspec .

I can’t call myself a Ruby Guru, but over the past year I have pretty well figured out Ruby and Rails. In addition, I am interested in all kinds of scientific research and materials related to teaching methods and the effectiveness of education, on this subject I wrote a couple of posts ( one , two ).

The idea with classes is not a new one, but very few people actually understand how effective this can be, so when I wrote to Google groups a year ago that I was looking for a teacher, the majority replied that it would be better if I read books and wrote the code. Of course, I already did all this, but I needed more: I needed a person who could correctly explain difficult moments and speed up the process. Then Oleg Andreev responded to my offer , with whom we studied for about 8 months. We just met once a week in a cafe with laptops, wrote a code and discussed issues. During this time, Oleg helped me to drive into Ruby very well and make a project. So the money and time invested in classes can be considered completely justified.

Now, I myself would be interested to act as a teacher. Knock, write. It will be interesting.
