Spreadtrum SC9861G-IA - Atom kernels for export

Spreadtrum , a Chinese microelectronics manufacturer , widely known in narrow circles for its smartphones chips, has announced the launch of its new SC9861G-IA . Unlike previous models, which were classic ARM SoCs, the computational basis for this is the 8-core processor of the Intel Airmont architecture used in Intel Atom processors (codenamed Cherry Trail ). In addition to Intel cores, the SoC also includes an LTE modem with a maximum speed of 300 Mbps and a PowerVR GT7200 graphics core.
This combination of components allows the manufacturer to position their product as SoC for smartphones of the highest and middle class. Indeed, his performance indicators are quite decent: a camera up to 26 MPix, a QHD display (2560x1440), 4k video playback at 30 fps. However, the topic of energy efficiency has not yet been disclosed.
Spreadtrum can hardly be called a trendsetter in the field of systems on chips, but the dashing trouble has begun. Intel has accumulated a large number of technologies and products, which were abandoned during the 2016 reorganization. While they are still relevant, why not use them to third firms? I think this would be fairer than simply putting an end to them.
