First Pocket Projector

3M has created perhaps the world's smallest digital projector. Despite its modest size, the 3M MPro 110 model may well help to build a small home theater.

If you direct the 3M MPro 110 to the wall in a relatively bright room, then the luminous flux of 10 lumens from the LED lamp is enough for an acceptable picture quality of only 28 x 21 cm. This is not so much, although you can increase the frame in a dark room. In addition, as you can see in the video , the picture in the corners is noticeably dimmer, and there is no sound (speakers need to be bought separately). But in the future, such projectors can be integrated directly into mobile phones, and the MPro 110 costs only $ 359, which is much cheaper than conventional digital projectors.

The projector is equipped with a VGA input, so you can connect an ordinary laptop, iPhone or PSP to it.

Generally speaking, portable projectors are a very promising area. Now many companies promise the creation of such devices using a variety of exotic technologies. For example, Microvision is trying to use lasers and microscopic mirrors, and Texas Instruments is experimenting with DLP chips (and lasers) and even holograms. Nevertheless, all these innovative products are still traveling around the exhibitions as prototypes, and the first mass product was made by 3M on conventional LED lamps.
