You yourself are pirates!

Exactly so, on occasion, everyone can now say to the address of a major game developer - the French company Ubisoft. In fact, the reputable studio was convicted of double piracy. The fact is that this month Ubisoft released an official patch for the very popular shooter Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. The supplement contains a lot of goodies, so fans of the game immediately rushed to download it. But their joy overshadowed by one small flaw. Authentication of a copy of the game, quietly included in the patch, began to demand to show it a disc with the original version of Vegas 2. But given the fact that Ubisoft has been selling games for a long time, allowing many fairly honest users to download them directly from their site there were regular problems.

A wave of discontent swept through the support forums, and the effect was not long in coming. An employee of the company, unknown so far, in the main thread of the discussion of the problem posted a fix for downloading that replaces the game's executable file and cancels authentication. And everyone would be happy if meticulous Internet users did not find that the fix is nothing more than part of the pirated NoDVD release from Reloaded.

At the moment, the company refuses to comment on who and why solved the problem with the patch in such an original way, instead of at least starting to distribute the original, unprotected exe-file of the game.
