The idea of Flex-design "e-shop for freeloaders"
Create an interactive e-store template consisting of a pair of files that could be placed on any hosting. The store should be extremely simple for both the user and the “administrator”.
The following functions should be implemented:
• Product catalog with unlimited nesting and display of the number of products in each (sub) category
• Each product has an arbitrary set of characteristics + photos. The details are displayed using templates.
• Search for products according to various criteria (name / price / ...) on the client
• Making an order, entering the necessary contact information and sending the order form by e-mail to the user and the owner of the store through a script located on a separate site
• Configure and edit the site using the included AIR-application. Allows you to manage the product catalog, the contents of user pages, themes and settings of the "site"
Additional bonuses:
• Ability to add your own HTML pages and customize the appearance using the WYSIWYG editor
• News page using an RSS feed from any blog
How it works:
After creating a product catalog in the attached AIR-program and setting up the “site” pages, the user simply uploads files to any server and the store starts working. Outwardly, it looks professional, supports the basic functions of the e-store, while not demanding on hosting. An existing blog is used to update the site (although there may be troubles associated with the lack of a cross-domain if the store and the blog are separated by different domains) and an xml settings file + directory.
Why this is needed: for me personally, this is a practice in AS and Flex. And for society - promoting the idea of RIA to the masses, promoting Flex and AIR, and of course, “Beauty will save the world”
- Some work in this direction has already begun, as interesting points arise, I will unsubscribe them in this blog. I also suggest Flex developers join.
