Impressions of the ReMIX Conference

The first Microsoft conference in Russia took place! The action took place in the chic columned hall of the House of Unions. The combination of hi-tech with pompous chandeliers, halls, and crystal-clear columns ascending is very interesting. It is worth noting the excellent technical organization of the event! All the essentials were displayed on a huge screen and were visible from any corner of the hall. Organizational stocks during the reports - I did not notice at all. It is very nice!

Briefly about reports:
- Microsoft now supports php. A question was asked from the audience about the possible existence of php.Net. At the moment, the prospects for expanding the platform in this direction are not clear.
- The company will work to optimize the work of Apache on Microsoft Server 2008. It is planned to create the possibility of juggling LAMP components on a platform from Microsoft.
- A vivid report was about Power Shell - the command line from Microsoft. Now the possibilities for configuring your server in the usual way - much more :)
- IE 8 is learning to understand the standards. Throughout the conference, delegates from Microsoft argued that the company was aware of its mistakes made in the past, and is now actively moving towards correcting them.
- Silverlight is becoming a real alternative to Flash. Every day, 1.5 million users install a plug-in and every day this figure is only growing.
The culmination of the event was a round table. The beginning was promising, but the constructive dialogue, unfortunately, did not work. The focus of the discussion was vague.
