This morning this feature appeared. By default, even old documents open in this fixed-width mode. A new drop-down menu has appeared - View, where you can select the document display mode - Plan or Page view.
Please note that this is not the same as working in Word with text - that is, new pages are not created if you press Enter. This sheet is as endless in length as before in Google Dox.
