Flash Player 10 Beta Starts
Today, Adobe began testing the new Flash Player 10 , code-named Astro. The beta version can be downloaded from the official site, there are also available video demos of new features of the program.
Among the new functionality is the best support for 3D animation and hardware video acceleration. The first testers can not hide their admiration for the three-dimensional "chips" of the new player.
Visual effects created in Pixel Bender are also supported . Using these tools, developers can create their own effects, which will be initially optimized for Flash Player.
Flash Player 10 will run on Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Mac OS X, and Linux.
Adobe assures that some of the new features of Flash Player 10 will also be integrated into future releases of Adobe AIR and the Open Screen Project.
