Instability of Vista: Microsoft Sins on Nvidia
Vista is primarily to blame for the unstable operation of OS, it turns out, not Microsoft, but Nvidia. In the process of investigating the Vista Capable program , another interesting “info” came up: statistics of OS “crashes”, according to which it’s the Nvidia drivers that caused the most problems.
According to Microsoft, 28.81% of all reported instances of unstable operation of the OS lies with Nvidia. Second and third place in the list - Microsoft with 17.9% and drivers of unknown developers. The figures are slightly lower for AMD (ATI) and Intel (9.3% and 8.83%, respectively).
Interestingly, Nvidia representatives are not going to deny these statistics. Explaining this “gap” from the main competitor in the production of graphics accelerators by a large number (~ 250 for Nvidia versus ~ 125 for ATI) supported products.
I note, however, that statistics are already quite outdated. And a lot of new drivers were released, and Vista has already acquired SP1.
PS I
remembered an old joke: “Everyone says a movie for fools. And I liked it!". This is me about the transition to Vista. I’ve installed it for a week now. With a service pack. I can’t get enough.
