E-book of the future

E-books developed using e-ink technology are gaining popularity. A lot of this contributed to the release of the rather successful Kindle from Amazon and fresh products from manufacturers such as Sony (Reader PRS) and Jinke Electronics (LBook eReader). But there is no limit to perfection. Student at the Australian Monash University Nedzad Muichinovich proposed (and made) an interesting concept for an e-book, already called Livre .

Forget about the control buttons. In the Livre concept, they are replaced by a special touch coating (printed on top) of the e-ink screen, which allows you to manage content using convenient and simple gesture operations. For example, to turn a page, just swipe your finger from one corner of the screen to another (a double gesture scrolls 10 pages at once). And this is already something that can bring the e-book closer to the usual senses and, accordingly, attract potential consumers who do not consider such a brainchild of progress to be a replacement for the good old hardcover. To achieve a similar effect is calculated and the use of skin as a “cover” for Livre.

There is no information about the characteristics of the device or the functionality for obvious reasons. But if one of the major manufacturers draws attention to this concept and puts the production of something similar on the stream, then this will be a rather significant step forward. Still, the price would be at the level of, say, 150-180 dollars ... But this is already quite conceptual.
