Safe Runet Week

Did you know that from January 29 to February 5, 2008 ROCIT and Microsoft
hold the "Safe Runet Week" ?

Perhaps I was a little late with my note, but I’ll say a bit about this action, which consists of 2 main parts.

So, I opened the “Safe Runet Week” of the press conference and the round table
“Internet for Children: Prospects or Threats? ..” , which took place in RIA Novosti. The round table was held by Ilmira MALIKOVA and Sergey PLUGOTARENKO. The following issues were discussed during the events:

• The role of society and the state in ensuring the safe use of the Internet for children
• Child safety on the Internet, software solutions, specialized Internet portals
• International experience in combating malicious content and its impact on children
• Health and safety of children on the Internet: awareness of the problem or its solution?
• International experience and approaches to restrict children's access to malicious Internet content, experience in introducing specialized .kids.us and .xxx domains in the USA
• Combating Child Pornography on the Web
• The child and the computer: “the spectrum of interests on the Internet” or “what are the parents unaware of? ..”
• The influence of malicious content on the psyche of a child

The final event will be held February 5, 2008 in Moscow at UNESCO IITE will host the Russian scientific-practical conference "Threats to man and society from the Internet: the situation in Russia . "
