"Information" sunglasses

Designed for professional athletes, Informance sunglasses are designed to display statistical information visible to peripheral vision on one of the lenses.

The image is generated by a miniature LED screen, which is powered by a small battery located in the left arm of the glasses. The screen resolution is 160 × 120 pixels. Information about heartbeat, speed, etc. comes via a wireless interface from the wristwatch included with Informance.

The visible area of the screen occupies 12% of the field of view of the "user". But, according to manufacturers (and these are several companies, mainly British and German), this does not affect the normal receipt of visual information.

At the moment, smart glasses are still in the testing phase. Informance will appear, most likely, only in 2009. I hope that by that time the screen will be somewhat better, and the functionality will expand. Running speed on the periphery of the view is good, but the latest news from your favorite sites or weather reports is much better. Not everyone around can afford to buy such a device for $ 1,500 exclusively for sports.
