Offline Gmail Client

There are rumors on the network that Google is preparing an offline client for its email service. According to these rumors, the client’s design has already been developed, the application is in the process of testing and, not surprisingly, runs on the basis of Google Gears.

Previously, Google proposed an offline version of Google Reader, built on the basis of the browser plug-in Gears. Other companies are also adopting Gears technology, such as the well-known Zoho online office suite , which about a month ago announced the addition of its offline mode to its Zoho Writer application .

Despite the fact that these rumors are not confirmed by Google, it is reasonable to expect their implementation. Google continues to assemble a mosaic of its services with office functionality as a serious competitor to MS Office.
