Visiting Epson - how iPhones.ru tested the iPhone 7 Plus camera, compared with the iPhone 6s and printed photos in the demo room

    Recently, unusual guests came to our Moscow demozal - a team of authors from the iPhones.ru website. They arrived not empty-handed, but with a brand-new iPhone 7 Plus, which immediately aroused the keen interest of all those present. Initially, the guests planned to print a couple of photos from the new six-flower good, but during the discussion and printing, the flight of fancy could not be stopped, and as a result, photos and screenshots from the new iPhone were printed in a variety of formats - from A4 and A3 + to huge a photo banner of 1.4 × 1.7 meters and even a print on a t-shirt.

    In this post, we will briefly describe the hardware on which we offered our guests to print a photo, and why the proposed equipment, in our opinion, was best suited for this.


    Traditional photo printing in A4 and A3 + formats at the Epson Printing Factory


    For printing photos, the guests were immediately offered a new Epson L805 print factory , which differs from the legendary Epson L800 printer, primarily with support for printing over Wi-Fi.



    This printer is designed to print documents and photos in the format up to A4, so immediately after printing a couple of photos, the guests inquired if there was anything to print photos in the larger format ...


    Naturally, such a unit was found immediately next door - "Printing Factory» Epson L1800 . This is an even more serious printer for printing in formats up to A3 +, which they used in testing.



    We advised not to accidentally print on these devices: they are able to produce prints with a resolution of up to 5760 × 1440 dots per inch, with careful study of color transitions and shades. What you need to complete a test drive of a brand new iPhone.


    Well, as a bonus, the ultra-low cost of printing, thanks to the use of ink tanks instead of cartridges, which you have long been aware of:



    T-shirt direct printing using Epson SureColor SC-F2000


    Printing on photo paper is, of course, great, but not too exciting. It is much more interesting to perform direct printing using some less traditional media ...


    T-shirts, for example!



    No sooner said than done. Immediately after the photo printing, the guests were invited to try printing something on a T-shirt. To our surprise, typing was offered not a photo, but a screenshot. Well ... Took a tug, do not say that typing is not a bush!


    As a result, we printed a wonderful t-shirt on an Epson SureColor SC-F2000 textile printer :



    ... what really entertained the guests and all those present in the demo room.

    The flight of fantasy, as I wrote earlier, was unstoppable, and as a final step, it was suggested to really check the photo from the new iPhone “for durability” by printing it on a photo- banner of almost human height, using Epson SureColor SC professional eco- solvent photo printer -S60610 .
