British teachers ask to close YouTube

A group of educators in the UK are asking for sites such as YouTube to be shut down in order to protect students and administrative staff from attacks from online bullies on social networks.

An unusual statement came about because there are videos on YouTube and other similar sites that humiliate and intimidate students and teachers. The fact that these videos constantly cause unhealthy physical and emotional situations worries those who call for the closure of these sites. At a conference of the Professional Teachers Association, this initiative was proposed and supported, calling for the complete cessation of the work of these social networks.

Yes, a huge problem, indeed, lies in cyberbullying - psychological terror in the vastness of the Web. The Internet is a great tool for such things. Firstly, files on the Web are distributed at the speed of light (and all that criminals need is to “lower” the victim in the eyes of more people), and secondly, on the Internet, you can easily remain anonymous and not be punished.

But my opinion is that, cyberbullying is a terrible thing, but not worth the closure of good resources. After all, an insignificant percentage of users are engaged in nonsense. Here the problem is not in technology, but in the minds - British teachers are not fighting that.
