Hackers who wished to remain anonymous hacked the Pentagon's mail server , as a result of which the security service disconnected about one and a half thousand computers, just in case.
Nothing is known about the attackers at all, while attacks on the Pentagon’s servers are organized quite often, but hackers rarely achieve such an effect as this time. True, no secret information was transmitted through the server that they managed to crack, so we can assume that "the shot turned out to be idle."
Secretary of Defense Robert Gates (it was his agency that initiated the shutdown of computers) said that all systems would begin work soon.
