Europeans choose not Apple iPhone, but Nokia

A survey conducted by Canalys showed that Europeans are very interested in the Apple iPhone, although most of the voters still prefer Nokia phones.

The study was conducted among 2,000 adults working as mobile phone users. The survey was conducted in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.

Here are the main survey results:

• 51% of respondents expressed a certain interest in mobile television with a choice of programs
• Consumers have more confidence in outdoor advertising and the recommendations of friends than TV advertising
• 62% said they wouldn’t be bothered by the built-in GPS module in their phone.
  Nearly half of iPod users intend to buy an iPhone.
• 84% of respondents want to change their Nokia to a more advanced model

Sony Ericsson was the second most popular mobile brand. It is followed by Samsung and Motorola. Although Apple has not yet released its iPhone, in popularity the company is ahead of such well-known mobile device manufacturers as RIM, HP and Palm.

Canalys analysts say: “Apple’s rating is increasing dramatically due to iPod users. Almost half of iPod users said they wanted to buy an iPhone. Only 20% of those who never had an iPod showed interest in the iPhone. Consumers of Apple products are very loyal to the manufacturer. ”
