Google will launch an interlanguage search engine that translates requests and answers on the fly

    Udi Manber, vice president of engineering at Google (and former director of search engine A9 at Amazon ), shared a search event on Searchology with information that the company will soon launch an inter-language search service. This is how it will look:

    In the screenshot (unfortunately, of very poor quality), the results in Arabic are displayed in the left column, and the English equivalents in the right.

    To return more results, search queries will be automatically translated into different languages. Then the results will be translated back to the user's native language.

    This search service will be especially useful for people speaking less common languages, since there is naturally less information on this language on the Web.
