Quite a lot of people use the word "login" as a synonym for username. Often you can find a form to enter the site with the fields "login" and "password". But this is erroneous, wrong and incorrect.
Login is a procedure for authenticating a user in a system. In the vast majority of cases, it consists of specifying a username (or e-mail address) and password.
When and where did the incorrect use of the word "login" come from, I do not know, did not get to the bottom. Nevertheless, the situation needs to be corrected. :-)
