OpenSolaris Governing Council resigned
The OpenSolaris Governing Council has resigned . The decision on this was made today at a meeting of board members.
The text of the decision notes that Oracle has ignored requests to appoint a person to work with the governing board and distributed a letter of closure of the OpenSolaris project. It is also noted that the interest and enthusiasm for continuing the open development of the OpenSolaris code base has passed from the hands of Oracle and its community into the hands of other communities.
Simon Phips, a member of the Governing Council, writes that he is very upset by the decision and thanked the OpenSolaris team at Sun, in particular Alan Coopersmith and Jim Grisanzo.
