The French launched their own digital library Europeana

The Americans, who have long been translating books and documents into digital format (take the same Google Books ), have followers in Europe. French experts announced the opening of Europeana , a digital library that will collect over 6 million books, films and documents.

True, these millions appear only in plans, but so far, about 12 thousand materials are available to visitors. 23 public libraries in Hungary, Italy, Germany, Poland and Spain volunteered to help the French. Here are just the "official" language of the library - French, while most Internet users are closer to English.
