Experience using Advizer

In early December 2006, the announcement of the emergence of a new contextual advertising system in Russia - Advizer . The system promised to work on the basis of the Runner model through a system of affiliate sites, providing high-quality protection against click fraud.

Since the prospects for this network were currently uncertain, the real usefulness of Advizer could only be determined through experience, which I tried to do. For the test, I began to place contextual advertising through the Advizer system. A few conclusions and comments:

    - The number of advertisers is smallat this moment. Each advertiser is given an account number, which apparently goes in a row. At the time of my registration in December, I was given an account number 33, now (March 17, 2007) when registering a second account, an account number 207 was issued. If you estimate the number of actually working accounts at 25-50% of the total, then probably the number of advertisers is 50-100 people.

    - Poor help . All help (FAQ) consists of 1 question - “I did everything but there are no visitors on my site. What's the matter?!" and accordingly 1 answer - “Perhaps you have set too low a price for going to your site for the chosen key word.”

    - Fast technical supportthrough the built-in form of communication. My request for a specific display error in FireFox was answered within a few hours.

    - Good ajax interface . It works quickly, almost the entire interface works without page reloads.

    - Several ways to replenish the balance . Non-cash transfer, transfer through Sberbank, Yandex.Money, WebMoney. Used translation through WebMoney - transferred quickly.

    - Slurred statistics . Provides information on the number of impressions, clicks and cost per day + geography and hours. No traffic sources.

    - It is not clear where the traffic comes from . Here's what they answered my query about sources in technical support:“We attract search traffic that redirects to our results pages (for example, www.searchweb.ru ) or to similar sites of our partners. These pages display advertisements. ” . Personally, I see behind this phrase the creation of doorways and the laundering of traffic (which, by the way, was supposed in the comments ).

In fact, traffic came from 2 sites:
    - blacksearch.spb.ru
    - www.searchweb.ru

Both sites are implemented as pseudo - search . This allows you to achieve a very high CTR - according to statistics, it ranged from 25% to 100% on different days. My best experience with real ads allowed me to achieve a previous CTR of 12% in Yandex.Direct and Runner.

    - Poor traffic quality. In terms of characteristics, traffic in general coincides with the Runet audience - in such parameters as geography; browser; use javascript and flash. Unfortunately, a detailed comparison cannot be made - the number of transitions from the system is small.

But unfortunately the quality of incoming visitors is rather low. To assess the quality of traffic, I use 2 main indicators:
    - viewing depth
    - achieving goals.

    Statistics for various sources:
    A sourceDepthAchievements of goals (%)
    Yandex search3.671.6
    Yandex.Direct3.611.42
    Runner3.743.21
    Adviser3.160 (!)

If Advizer does not significantly lag behind other sources in terms of viewing depths, then the result is very poor in achieving goals. For this project, an unusually high percentage of achieving goals in Beguna turned out to be interesting, although usually it is 50-80% of achieving goals with Yandex.Direct.

    - A small number of transitions . Conversions from Yandex and Runner for the same period for the same keywords were 10-20 times more.

If you try to make a conclusion about the system, then it is now ineffective for neither making money, nor for attracting traffic . We hope that in the near future it will be able to transform into something more specific.
