Comstar-UTS doubled its Stream TV subscriber base in the 2nd quarter of 2006

Comstar-UTS announces operating results of the alternative and traditional business segments based on the results of the second quarter of 2006. Over the reporting period, the growth of the subscriber base of broadband Internet access amounted to 73% (a net increase of 126,927 subscribers) to 301,045 compared with the results of the 2nd quarter of 2005. The Stream TV subscriber base doubled to 28,556 subscribers compared to the first quarter of 2006.

“During the time that I devoted to studying the current state of affairs of the company, I was pleased to note that our new line of Stream tariff plans, which included both broadband Internet access and digital television (double play) services, was very positively accepted by the market, - Eric Franke, CEO of Comstar-UTS, comments on operating results. - As a result of the introduction of these tariffs in May 2006 in a fairly short time and despite a seasonal decrease in activity, the number of pay-TV users has doubled compared to the first quarter of 2006. I am sure that this initiative, combined with the rebranding of the company, is the key to the further growth of this strategically important business segment of the Comstar-UTS group of companies.
