Google will determine the best programmer in the competition

    On August 14, 2006, the registration of participants in the 4th international Google Code Jam 2006 data encoding contest began . One hundred of the best contestants who managed to show worthy programming skills will win a free trip to New York to participate in the final. It will take place on October 27 at the Google Engineering Center.

    “During the Google Code Jam contest, the talented and fastest programmers from all over the world get an amazing opportunity to get together on the same platform and compete with each other,” said Alan Eustace, senior vice president of engineering at Google. “Our company takes pride in supporting coders with amazing capabilities; they undertake to solve some of the most complex world problems in the field of programming. We’re happy that we have a chance to introduce them to our team, which brings together researchers and developers from Google’s offices around the world. ”

    But not just a trip to New York will get the finalists. They will share a prize pool of $ 155,000:

    1st place: $ 10,000
    2-10places: $ 5000 for each finalist
    11-25 places: $ 2500 for each finalist
    26-50 places: $ 1000 for each finalist
    51-100 places: $ 750 for each finalist

    Registration for the Google Code Jam contest will end on September 5, the qualification round will take place on the same day.

    Recall that last year over 14,500 programmers from 32 countries participated in the Google Code Jam competition, and the winner was Marek Cygan from Poland.
