Google Opens Third Chinese R&D Center

    The Shanghai subsidiary, which will begin work next year, will become Google’s third R&D center in China. At the moment, experts are choosing the right place for its location, according to the Chinese press , citing Kaifu Lee, the head of the local representative office of the American corporation.

    The staff of the new branch is still unknown. Two R&D centers in Beijing and Taipei employ a total of about one hundred people.

    Google is seeking to increase its presence in the Middle Kingdom in all areas. In particular, by the end of the year it is planned to increase from 12 to 30 the number of Chinese partner sites in the Google content network.
