Roskomnadzor offers to label content for infants
Today it became known that Roskomnadzor proposed to introduce a new age category for marking content - 1+ and 3+. This is reported by Vedomosti.
The proposal was made by the head of Roskomnadzor, Alexander Zharov. He substantiates his point of view by developing forms of informational influence on children, and also by the fact that they “are consumers of media content practically from infancy”.
“Based on a comprehensive analysis, it is necessary to develop criteria for labeling information products for young children - from one to three years,” said Zharov.
He believes that the content must be marketed in accordance with the psychological features of children and adolescents of different ages. The fact is that digital products and media products are becoming an integral part of the process of raising and educating children.
Since 2012, the age classification of information products from four categories has been working in Russia: 0+, 6+, 12+, as well as information that is prohibited for distribution among children (this is category 18+). In category 0+, children under six years of age may admit products that contain episodic non-naturalistic images or descriptions of violence justified by its genre, with the exception of sexual, but “with the condition of the triumph of good over evil and expression of compassion for the victim of violence”.
All media should publish content, except for socio-political and news.
