SpaceX hired a Hollywood film designer to design spacesuit designs.

    IBTimes Resource reports that SpaceX's Ilona Mask company hired renowned film industry expert Jose Fernandez, who has been working with major Hollywood companies for 20 years, as designer of space suits. In his arsenal, a number of very famous films, in which the main role is played mainly by all sorts of superheroes, who somehow differ in their costume: these are tapes about Batman, Iron Man, Spiderman and others. In addition, Fernandez had a hand in the futuristic “Tron: Legacy”, the heroes of which were remembered for their LED-suits.

    In order to understand the stylistics of the designer’s thinking, one can note the fact that his company Ironhead Studio took part in the creation of a fantastic film on the space theme “Oblivion” with Tom Cruise in the lead role. The director of this film, Joseph Kosinski, in 2010 shot an unusual in its visual solution “Tron: Heritage”, which was performed by the futuristic French electronic duet Daft Punk.



    Ilona Mask's wishes regarding the design of future space suits José Fernandez conveys colorfully: “In a tuxedo, everything looks good, regardless of its shape or size. And when the astronauts put on their spacesuits, they would like to look better than if they were without them. You must look like a hero in it. ” At the same time, as Fernandez noted, he will not forget about the practical side of the issue.

    Recently, the company SpaceX has become the person involved in several significant events in the world of astronautics. In late April, it became known about the plans of Ilona Mask to send an unmanned spacecraft Red Dragon to Mars in 2018. Most recently, SpaceX successfully implemented a landing of the first stage of the Falcon 9 on an offshore platform, simultaneously launched on the Japanese communications satellite.

    It is curious that in February of this year, José Fernandez had already begun cooperation with another company, Ilona Mask, who was hired to create the design of unmanned vehicles.
