3 million rubles for those who can code
In July, Moscow will host the international IceVision hackathon in unmanned transport - participants will have to teach the AI to drive through snowstorms, drifts, icy conditions, low light - in a word, in the conditions of a classical winter of a temperate climate zone. The competition was organized by NUST MISiS and the Up Great Technology Competitions project. Partner - StarLine Research and Production Association. IceVision prize pool exceeds 3 million rubles. You can feel like a god of snowy roads (and coding) by submitting an application until June 21.
By the way, Ice Vision is the second experience of NUST “MISiS” in organizing international hackathons. In September 2017, the first international computer vision hackathon VisionHack was held at Dom Kommune, where 27 teams from 5 countries taught unmanned automobile systems to see the road, distinguish between zebra, speed bumps, traffic signs, etc. .
IceVision participants will have to develop software that will allow an unmanned vehicle to analyze data from stereo cameras or lidars and correctly recognize traffic conditions in adverse conditions of the Russian winter.
Confident character recognition in all weather conditions is a necessary requirement for creating vehicles of the 5th drone level, i.e. able to move completely without driver in any weather conditions on any public road. At the moment, this problem has not been completely solved by any of the manufacturers of unmanned vehicles, therefore it is relevant at the global level.
The dataset will consist of 20 thousand (!) Specially selected “winter” road images.
The hackathon will be held July 13-16 at the student campus "House-commune" NUST "MISiS". All nonresidents will be provided with free accommodation and meals. Age of participants is from 14 to 30 years.
How to become a member of Ice Vision:
It's all. Only 2 points. Already on June 25, the results of the correspondence phase will be announced, and it will be possible to slowly pack iron for the July intensive. The full-time stage will be held from July 13 to 16.
Keep calm and code on.

How to become a member of Ice Vision:
- Apply online until June 21st. At this point, it would be nice to have a team of 3 to 5 people, but even if it is not there, they will help to assemble the team on the spot.
- Take the competitive absentee selection. This is a small assignment for access to the body of going on a full-time tour. It’s impossible without selection, everything is serious.
