Kreisel EVEX 910e: historical model - new life

    How to organically combine the love of electric cars and fast trips? The Austrian company Kreisel Electric succeeded. Founding it, the Kraisel brothers focused on the production of high-performance batteries and energy storage systems for the home and the road, but they also have a “dream project” - the conversion of the EVEX Porsche 910 into a modern electric sports car Kreisel EVEX 910e.

    The EVEX 910e supersportcar accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.5 seconds, and its battery lasts for 350 km. The maximum speed exceeds 300 km / h.
    Unlike the historical original, the EVEX 910e is approved for use on public roads. The electric car is produced in a limited series together with EVEX Fahrzeugbau GmbH.

    Almost 50 years ago, the riders Stommelen and Nerpasch took the sixth place in the Le Mans 24 hour race on the original Porsche with a two-liter 6-cylinder horizontal ICE. In total, 35 copies of the car were produced - exclusively for circuit and mountain racing. The value of the original for collectors is extremely high. In the 1970s, EVEX took over the baton of production, but after assembling four cars, production was permanently discontinued. Converting the 910 into an electric car, Kreisel Electric breathed new life into it.

    To ensure maximum acceleration and speed, Kreisel has developed an automatic two-speed gearbox with gear ratios of 8.16 (1st gear) and 4.67 (2nd gear), with a self-locking differential and an integrated oil pump for lubrication and cooling. The electric car weighing 1100 kg has a powerful lithium-ion battery.

    To accommodate power equipment and the battery, the frame of the original car had to be slightly modified. In addition, Kreisel engineers developed a new cooling system for the high-power engine.

    The battery can be used as a backup current source, since bi-directionality is ensured - in case of power outages, it is possible to connect it to the power network of a private house to supply energy to home equipment.

    Replacing the classic internal combustion engine with a patented electric motor with an extended interval between battery recharges required careful planning, design study by highly qualified specialists and the use of 3D technologies.
