The book "Learning to code in JavaScript"
Hi, habrozhiteli! We published a book for boys and girls from 10-11 years old which will help to write program code on our own, without the help of parents and teachers.
Do you like to play online? Chat with friends via VKontakte, Facebook and Instagram? Watch videos on a smartphone? Everything that you use was invented by ordinary people who once decided that they wanted to do programming. The ability to write code is a modern superpower that distinguishes magicians from muggles. And the most logical way to start is to learn the JavaScript language, which is written in more than 90% of all websites.
The book has a lot of tasks and exercises (with answers, but don’t peek right away!). There can be several answers, the main thing is that you get a working version. Get cooler than Ilona Mask! It's time to roll up your sleeves and start pumping new superpower!
Divided into chapters and covering almost all the basics of the language, this book, as a guide, will guide your child through the initial steps in the world of the JavaScript language, giving theoretical explanations for the various nuances of programming in this language, and immediately providing the reader with the opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge to interesting practical problems. From the first command to display the phrase “Hello, World” (or “Hello, World”), to writing functions that perform various tasks assigned by the author.
In the process of reading it, as an acting developer (programmer), I took notes on almost every page in the spirit of "there is something missing," "somehow too easy" or "not enough." However, later, when he had almost finished reading the book, he came to the conclusion that its author thoughtfully and thoroughly approached the content, he skillfully sorted out the presentation of theoretical and practical material, turning the process of reading it into a fascinating journey into programming in JavaScript, where there is nothing complicated and confusing. For everything that can make your child think for a long time in the process of reading, be incomprehensible to him or seem to him too complicated, is not in this book. Yes, it is not easy to believe that the process of learning a programming language can be so easy, interesting, fun and exciting.
On my own, I note both as a teacher and as a developer that this book is quite easy to read and does not let you get bored among the lines. In any case, if your child really wants to learn how to program, I’m sure that this book will help him start writing JavaScript code without any difficulties. The book will tell you in detail about how “easy” it is to start, give detailed explanations of all the basic foundations and allow you to apply them with practical examples, and in the end will tell you the direction of the future path in the
programming world . I liked it, I think you will like it.
