Uptime day: April 12th, normal flight

    “But what to expect from conferences? All the dancers, wine, parties ”- joked the hero of the film“ The Day After Tomorrow ”.

    Probably, it doesn’t happen at some conferences (share stories in the comments), but at it-gatherings usually have beer instead of wine (at the end), and instead of dancers - “dances” with codes and information systems. 2 years ago, we also fit into this choreography by organizing the Uptime day conference. This April, on Cosmonautics Day, we are holding it for the fourth time - traditionally free of charge and traditionally to the accompaniment of the questions “Why do you need this?”
    At spring Uptime day, we’ll talk about organizing redundancy of web projects with a complex distributed architecture - ways to switch from a combat environment to a backup, as well as analyzing various rollback and switching scenarios in case of an unsuccessful deployment.

    Why do we need this? .. About this under the cut. And about how the Uptime day conference will be useful to you.

    For 10+ years of existence, ITSumma has participated in 100 IT-related conferences. And these are, of course, good opportunities for gaining knowledge (customer search is more likely to exhibitions). In essence, the purpose of the organizers is to provide a platform where you can get this new knowledge and establish new contacts.

    What is the fundamental difference between Uptime dayfrom other conferences? - We are aimed not at the “speaker-listener” format, but at the dialogue format. At our place, all the speakers not only answer questions after the report, but are also always ready for one-to-one communication on the sidelines at the end of the presentation. In fact, a kind of personal consultation with experts is obtained. And the speakers, as they say, carry their experience, their cones stuffed in the practical process to the masses - in the general and individual order. Getting feedback and information about the same stuffed bumps from the participants. Knowledge interchange. In free mode: there is no entrance for money. The main currency is knowledge. And the desire to acquire them.

    Altruism? (maybe) But that's not the point. My belief is that there should be a platform on which any IT specialist can be a full-fledged participant in the process, regardless of the current corporate status. And my other conviction is that the IT community cannot function productively in a situation of limited access to real practices.

    So what are we talking about? - About the conference, where they come for knowledge, for cases, for an honest dialogue about how we are changing the world. Does it change following our ideas? - We’ll talk about this on Uptime day 4 .

    We devoted the first conference to monitoring highly loaded sites: as they say, prevention is easier (and cheaper) than curing.

    The second topic is fatal incidents in infrastructure: who doesn’t like honest stories about fakaps?

    The third talked about the practice of working with complex infrastructures: they do not live alone.

    And the fourth topic is reservation. Well, simply because in 2019, gaps in this area are too expensive: if something has fallen, it's not about which recovery path to choose; on this thought you already lost - and lost N thousand rubles and X hundreds (well, if hundreds) of customers. It is about how to make the recovery process as quick, hassle-free, flexible and effective as possible.

    The following will tell about their experience:

    Mail.ru cloud solutions - the topic of the report “How Fail-Safe Web Architecture is Implemented in Mail.Ru Cloud Solutions”;
    Badoo- The topic of the report "Nginx + Keepalived: how to reliably give 200k photos per second";
    Qrator - the topic of the report is “Building and operating a fault
    - tolerant anycast network”;
    Bitrix.24 - the topic of the report “Quickly raised is not considered to have fallen”;
    AdminDivision - the topic of the report “Failover: perfectionism and laziness ruins us”;
    ITSumma is the subject of the K8s Reservation report.

    And yes - I take this opportunity to invite you to participate in the Uptime day 4 conference . As they say in one notorious social network, "it is free and always will be free." But the knowledge of the members of the Uptime community is priceless.
