Kruglendar 2016 - diary poster

Friends, ready round calendar 2016!

Every year I draw a new round calendar, hang on the wall and write, draw on it about everything interesting that happens to me. Or is going to happen.

By the end of the year, the poster becomes a historical thing and is sent to the archive.

2. Print and hang on the wall, near - a felt-tip pen.
3. Sign an event, for example, the appearance of a round calendar.

Process

This year, with the python moved on javascript + d3.js . Functions came in handy with dates, svg objects (g attribute generators, for example), and scales. Now you can render the calendar in the browser without butt but with python, versions and modules.

At first I wanted to do something unexpectedly, I played with the form. I tried the pixel lines and the black diagrams. However, he returned to the idea with a rolling circle, put the numbers on a hyprochoid . It looks like last year’s hypocycloid , but the line without kinks is smooth. When the parameter r2 changes from 0 to r , the hypotrochoid changes from a circle to a hypocycloid.

Differences from last year's version

• He removed all lines, transferred their functions to text. Curved the date line, highlighting the months. Weekend marked in large print.
• I chose the font Bebas Neue : condensed, free, there are 5 styles. The code shows what other fonts I tried . I would be grateful if you tell me another.
• He took the names of the months out of brackets , this improved their readability, and the numbers became larger. On a habr about it already two years asked :)
